Emissions Reporting Guides
From 1 January 2025, emissions reporting became mandatory (under ASRS 52) for the construction industry. To support contractors, subcontractors and suppliers in meeting these new requirements, the Australian Constructors Association has developed a suite of three practical guides.
These guides provide construction-specific advice to help industry report emissions consistently, transparently and in line with national frameworks. They clear up common misconceptions, highlight the role of technology and data, and outline practical steps for improving efficiency and accountability across the supply chain.
To make the information accessible, the material is presented in three separate documents:
- Summary Guide – a high-level overview of the regulatory environment and key reporting elements.
- Technical Guide – a detailed reference for practitioners on reporting requirements and methodologies.
- Subcontractor and Supplier Guide – tailored advice to help supply chain partners understand their role and responsibilities.
By providing a common language for reporting, these guides aim to reduce duplication, lift reporting quality, and support a more collaborative approach to achieving a low-carbon future.
