In early 2025, the Australian Constructors Association (ACA), with support from the NSW Government, launched the It’s Possible campaign to inspire mid-career women to consider a new career in construction.
Part of our Culture Pledge, the campaign sends a clear message: women already have what it takes to succeed in construction. Too often, women hold back from applying for roles unless they meet every requirement. But in construction, the skills gained from other industries are not only transferable—they’re highly valued. It’s a hands-on industry where you learn on the job and grow as you go.
We understand that changing careers can feel overwhelming, especially if you don’t have direct experience. That’s why we created It’s Possible—to show that it’s never too late to make a change, no matter your age, background or experience.
The campaign features real stories of women who’ve made the switch. One of them is Moreta, who left her job as a claims manager to start a new chapter in construction.
“Before construction, I was a claims manager stuck at a desk all day. I needed a change. What I love most about construction is the variety—every day is different. And if anyone says women can’t work in construction, it’s just not true. More and more women are joining the industry.”
A unique feature of the campaign is the opportunity to join exclusive site tours of four major infrastructure projects across NSW. These tours give participants a firsthand look at live construction sites, a feel for the day-to-day work environment and the chance to hear directly from women who’ve already made the switch.

About the NSW Government’s Women in Construction Program
The NSW Government is investing $20.2 million in the Women in Construction Program over three years. The program aims to attract and retain more women into the construction industry, with a focus on increasing the number of women in trade and non-traditional roles. Year 2 of the Industry Innovation Program was announced in August with $2.2 million allocated to 13 industry recipients.
The Industry Innovation Program is one of four priority actions for the Women in Construction Program. The grants program was established to fund innovative ideas in industry to support the creation of inclusive workplace cultures, attract and retain women to the construction sector, support female employees and women in leadership roles.
