Australian Constructors Association CEO Jon Davies visited the site of Brisbane’s Queen’s Wharf as a guest of ACA member Multiplex to see firsthand the progress being made on one of Australia’s landmark tourism infrastructure projects.

Hosted by Multiplex Regional Director, David Redding, Mr Davies paid tribute to Multiplex’s approach to the delivery of a transformational urban development project, “It was fantastic to meet the team from Multiplex and to gain an understanding of how they are bringing their technical expertise to Queen’s Wharf.”

“The scale of the project should not be underestimated, nor should Multiplex’s approach to innovation, a fantastic example of which is the utilisation of an innovative precast column that requires no propping. This results in huge efficiency gains, boosting productivity and ensuring project progress.”

“As a Brisbane resident, Queen’s Wharf will be a jewel in the crown of our city, creating employment and opportunity for businesses and residents across the region, all of whom will benefit from a world-class tourism destination that will attract visitors from Queensland, Australia and around the globe.”

The integrated resort and entertainment precinct will include four towers and house 5 and 6 star premium hotel brands. The towers will also include a casino with world-class gaming facilities and new luxury retail, restaurants and bars fully accessible to the public.

Multiplex commenced works mid-2019 with completion of the first stage in late-2022.
