The Board of the Australian Constructors Association (ACA) today announced the appointment of Jon Davies as its first Chief Executive Officer.

“The appointment of Jon Davies reflects the action the ACA is taking to ensure that together with our clients, construction remains central to the country’s economic recovery and the sustainability of the industry and its participants is maintained”, ACA Executive Chairman Craig Laslett said.

Mr Laslett said that the expanded focus of the ACA and the appointment of Jon Davies would provide the opportunity to establish greater collaboration between industry, its clients, its supply chain and the community through more effective working relationships.

He also said that the appointment would support the action that the ACA is taking to lead a cultural change within the industry to improve its capability and capacity and its attractiveness as a place to work.

“The ACA Board and I are looking forward to working with Jon to achieve the Association’s key strategic objectives. Jon’s track record in the industry in Queensland over many years and his more recent proven leadership and success as CEO of the Queensland Major Contractors Association will enable him to lead the ACA in its role to ensure a sustainable industry that delivers for its clients and communities across the country”, Mr Laslett said.

Mr Davies said that he was excited to be in the role and to be given the opportunity to assist the ACA to lead the industry through the current difficult times and into a sustainable future.

“I am looking forward to working with the Board and members of the ACA and to connecting with the industry’s key stakeholders and peak national and state bodies. There is a lot of work ahead, but through collaboration and a commitment to drive positive change, we can secure a sustainable future for our industry and lead the nation’s economic growth post-COVID-19,” Mr Davies said.

Mr Davies is to take up his position with the ACA on 1 July 2020.
