Mark Baker is the Chief Executive Officer of BESIX Watpac and has been with the company for over than 15 years. He has more than 25 years’ experience across a wide range of industries in business operations, strategy, finance, and corporate governance, and has led the company through a period of significant transformation over the past several years.
Mark has a deep understanding of the construction sector and the key drivers of success, which BESIX Watpac has harnessed to deliver high-value, complex, and distinctive projects across Australia and New Zealand. His extensive experience in strategy development and execution has guided the company’s focus towards delivering projects that create the most value for all stakeholders, particularly across stadiums and venues, defence and secure facilities, complex industrial works, data centres and health infrastructure.
He has completed the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School and holds a Bachelor of Commerce and a Bachelor of Arts, as well as a Graduate Diploma in Applied Corporate Governance. Mark is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants Australia, the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators, and the Financial Services Institute of Australasia. Drawing on his extensive experience in the construction industry, Mark is also a member of the Board Executive of the Australian Constructors Association.
