Annabel has more than 22 years’ experience in the construction industry and, for the last 15 years, she has held a number of leadership positions at Laing O’Rourke Australia. She joined the Australian Executive in June 2018, our first female Australian executive.
Annabel currently leads the Legal, Risk and Company Secretarial functions in Australia, whilst also sitting on the Project Leadership Group for the Inland Rail project, More Trains, More Services and various work winning pursuits. She is also an executive sponsor of the Diversity & Inclusion Committee and our Reconciliation Action Plans.
Annabel was elected as Director of the Australian Constructors Association, and the first female Vice President in December 2019. She has also been a SteerCo member and Industry Lead of the Construction Industry Leadership Forum (CILF), a collaboration with the NSW and Victorian Governments, since 2018.
Joining Laing O’Rourke in 2007 as Corporate Counsel, Annabel was the second lawyer to join the in-house Legal team, playing a leading role in developing the organisation’s internal Legal capability.
Annabel completed her MBA at the AGSM in 2011, at the same time as stepping into a broader leadership role as General Manager of Laing O’Rourke’s Human Capital and Legal teams and Company Secretary.
She also holds external Directorship roles in the not-for-profit sector.
