The Australian Constructors Association is pleased to announce the membership of Icon.

Australian Constructors Association Chief Executive Officer Jon Davies said the organisation’s growing membership is not only evidence of the important role of the industry body but growing recognition that the sector needed to change.

“Icon’s ‘people come first’ culture is a great fit with the association,” Mr Davies said.

“We are committed to changing the culture of the industry to be more inclusive with greater diversity and a continued focus on the health and wellbeing of the workforce.

“As a fully diversified builder with projects including mixed use, aged care, healthcare, high-rise residential and more, Icon is well placed to contribute to discussion aimed at improving the sustainability of the industry.”

Icon Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director Evan Byrne said joining the Australian Constructors Association demonstrated the company’s commitment to helping build an industry that benefits both member companies and stakeholders across the sector.

“It also recognises the scale and scope of our national footprint and Icon’s growing reputation for delivering a fully diversified suite of construction services. We work hand-in-hand with clients and suppliers on every project to ensure we adopt practices that are safe and sustainable.

“We are also focused on attracting the highest calibre of professionals to the industry so we can continue building quality infrastructure for all Australians.”

Icon’s membership follows the recent announcement that global tunnelling services expert Ghella has also joined the association.

The Australian Constructors Association is the representative body for contractors delivering vertical and horizontal construction as well as providing construction services.
