The health and safety of the construction industry workforce is a high priority for the ACA and its members.
Our Health and Safety Working Party works collaboratively to address the fundamental issues impacting the health and safety outcomes of our operations and to change the practices that give rise to them.
Key focus areas include:
improving occupational hygiene by defining compliance expectations for airborne contaminants, advocating for appropriate control measures and sharing learnings to improve understanding of the risks and control measures across industry
raising awareness of health and wellbeing strategies with stakeholders and embedding this focus in the tender/procurement stage of projects to be carried through into project delivery
collaborating with stakeholders to identify opportunities for standardisation and to facilitate the development and implementation of solutions.
