David Jurd

Managing Director, Abigroup Limited

A University of Newcastle graduate and civil engineer with over 20 years of experience, David has worked in the United Kingdom and Australia, leading the delivery of some of this country’s most important infrastructure projects.

David’s career with Abigroup began in 1991 and has included such successes as Sydney’s M2 Motorway and Pacific Highway Upgrade work at Yelgun to Chinderah, for which he was Project Director.

David’s most recent operations role was as Construction Director on the much acclaimed $1.6 billion M7 Motorway. At the time of delivery the M7 was Australia’s largest single infrastructure project, and to this day is the country’s most successful road PPP.

David was appointed Operations Director and a member of the Abigroup Limited board in 2006 and in early 2009 David was appointed Managing Director of Abigroup Limited.

1988-1991 – Overseas travel
1991 – Commenced employment at Abigroup
1993 – Appointed Project Manager
2005 – Delivered largest single infrastructure project, and one of the country’s best examples of a successful PPP to date, eight months ahead of schedule
2006 – Appointed Operations Director of Abigroup Limited
2009 – Appointed Managing Director of Abigroup Limited
