A senior civil engineering professional, Enrique has over 20 years’ experience in the delivery of major, high value and complex engineering projects in the rail, road and airport sectors in Australia, UK and Spain. He has extensive leadership and management expertise with a record of achievement in setting strategic directions and business strategies within a major civil contracting organisation.
Since being appointed Managing Director for Ferrovial in 2011, Enrique has managed the implementation, development and growth of Ferrovial in Australia. This has involved setting up the systems, recruiting the right people, developing the right culture and providing challenging projects for them to deliver. Ferrovial is now recognised as a major international engineering contractor in Australia, delivering the Toowoomba Second Range Crossing PPP in Queensland and complex upgrades to the Pacific Highway in NSW.
Prior to arriving in Australia, Enrique was Project Director for civil works on all British Airport Authority projects in the UK, successfully delivering the 2.1km tunnel containing an automated transfer baggage system at Heathrow Airport, and pavement works/runway rehabilitation works at Heathrow, Gatwick and Aberdeen Airports.
Prior to this he was Regional Manager/Project Manager on a number of rail infrastructure projects in Spain delivering the High Speed Train network between Madrid-Barcelona and Madrid-Valencia.
Enrique has a focus on developing innovative solutions based on international best practice and his experience delivering major rail, tunnel and viaduct projects internationally. He also brings expertise in managing stakeholder relationships by fully understanding their issues, needs and aspirations.
